“Meeting people where they are.”

Meeting People Where They Are With Compassion, Presence, and Practical Care

Welcome to Awakening Acts, serving Baltimore and surrounding Maryland communities through compassionate street outreach, transportation support, and practical assistance inspired by Matthew 25. We serve without agenda, without discrimination, and without focus on money or buildings — only people. Our mission is to meet both practical and spiritual needs through presence, service, and care.

Our Current Outreach Includes the following:

  • Street Outreach
  • HopeRide Community Transportation
  • Food & Essentials Support
  • Community Visits & Spiritual Care
  • Prison Ministry

All outreach is relationship-centered and open to everyone, without discrimination. Participation in spiritual support is always voluntary.

Basic Needs: Food, Clothing, Sick

At Awakening Acts Ministries, we meet people where they are by addressing the most urgent human needs: food, clothing, and care during illness. Our Basic Needs Outreach provides meals to the hungry, distributes clothing and essentials to families in crisis, and offers compassionate support to those facing health challenges.

Impact:
Alleviates food insecurity through regular meal distribution.
Provides clothing and essentials to individuals and families in need.
Offers spiritual encouragement, prayer, and comfort to the sick and their caregivers.
Builds trust and connection, creating bridges to further services and community resources.

Take Action:

  • Volunteer at a soup kitchen
  • Donate non-perishable food items
  • Sponsor a family’s groceries
  • Start a community garden

Spiritual counseling and peer mentorship inside correctional facilities
Reentry support and connections to community resources upon release.

Our Vision:
To see lives transformed behind prison walls and communities strengthened as returning citizens rebuild their futures with faith, dignity, and hope..

  • Help with prisoner rehabilitation
  • Support families of inmates
  • Assist with job training for ex-offenders

Care for the Sick & Elderly Ministry

At Awakening Acts, we believe every elder deserves to be seen, heard, and honored. Our Senior Hope & Dignity program provides compassionate outreach to older adults in nursing homes, assisted living centers, and local communities. Through visitation, prayer, worship services, and practical support, we combat loneliness and restore dignity to those often forgotten.

Impact:
Reducing social isolation and depression among seniors.
Strengthening family and community bonds across generations.
Creating spaces of dignity, joy, and belonging for older adults.

Take Action:

  • Provide meals to families of the sick
